General information from CCR Roofing, not an assessment of your property.
Look from the ground first.
After strong winds, walk around the house and look for missing or lifted shingles, bent flashing, damaged vents, and loose gutter sections. Use binoculars instead of a ladder.
Check your yard and gutters.
Shingle pieces, ridge caps, or granules in the yard or gutters suggest the roof took some of the wind.
Check inside.
Look at ceilings and the attic, if safely accessible, for new stains or damp spots in the days after the storm.
Document what you see.
Take dated photos from safe locations. If you plan to contact your insurer, ask them what documentation they need. A roofing estimate does not determine coverage.
Schedule an inspection.
Lifted shingles may not be obvious from the ground but can let water in later. An in-person look helps decide whether repair is needed.
